Ralph E. Anderson

Ralph E. Anderson, 70, of Poland, Ind., passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 15, 2014.

He was born on Oct. 17, 1943 in Indianapolis. He was the son of the late Gaylord and Helen Anderson and grandson of Ralph and LaVanche Anderson.

Ralph married Jeanne (Nickerson) Anderson on Oct. 17, 1982.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three children, Brent (Marcia) Anderson of Indianapolis, Scott (Sharon) Anderson of Cloverdale, Wes Anderson of Indianapolis, and three grandchildren, Ian, Jason and Kelli Anderson. Sisters Valanda Miller of Walkerton, Shirley Calhoun of Wasilla, Alaska, Jackie Neelis of Albion, Mich., and Beverly Cornell of Parma, Mich., also survive Ralph.

He was preceded in death by brother James Wireman.

Ralph worked at Allison Gas Turbine for 30 years before retiring in 1992. After retirement, Ralph opened his own woodworking business for many years. Additionally, he worked as the House Dad at the Delta Chi fraternity at DePauw University.

Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, June 20 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale,. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until service time.

There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering following the service at the Cloverdale Masonic Lodge.
