The Greencastle Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated its newest member, Putnam County Insurance, with a ribbon cutting. In attendance for the event were Tiffany Deer of DePauw University, Jenny Sullivan of Eitel's Florists, Jinsie Bingham, Agency Manager Mark Wager, Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Commercial Service Manager Lora Clore, President Derrick Clore, Merlin Maltsberger of the Banner Graphic, Greencastle Mayor Sue Murray and Tammy Johnson of the Chamber of Commerce.

Putnam County Insurance officially opened its doors in the Shoppes of Greencastle at 1360 Indianapolis Rd. beside Extreme Tanning and Subway.

"We are thrilled to be in Greencastle," President Derrick Clore said. "It's a wonderful community where we know we can provide better coverage and service for hundreds of dollars less than the competition.

"Our agency manager, Mark Wager, resides in Greencastle and brings 30 years of insurance experience to his clients. We believe our clients will be thrilled with the level of personal service Mark offers."

Putnam County Insurance is an independent agency offering home, auto, business and life insurance through multiple companies.

However, Wager said "what sets us apart from other agencies is our personal service and the fact that we are the only agency in Greencastle who represents Erie Insurance."

Erie Insurance has become the premiere Property & Casualty insurance company in the industry. J.D. Power has consistently ranked it No. 1, including being ranked best for small business insurance and Erie has remained on the Ward's Top 50 list of most financially sound insurance companies.

"We offer extremely valuable coverage options that are very difficult to find in the industry at a price that all agents know is very difficult to beat," Wager said. "Our clients also have access to their local agent 24/7 for claims emergencies. Our greatest challenge is simply making people aware of our new presence. If we can get people in the door, our coverage, service and price will quickly speak for the value we bring."

Putnam County Insurance will have its official grand opening event on Saturday, June 28.

Prizes from local vendors will be raffled off, including a flat-screen TV.
