Gobin to celebrate Wilson's eight years in Greencastle

Friday, June 20, 2014

In celebration of the ministry of the Rev. Dr. P.T. Wilson as senior pastor, the congregation of Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church has planned an event on Sunday, June 29 to honor him.

P.T. will be completing his eighth year of appointment as Gobin's pastor, the longest serving in the congregation's history. In July he will begin his new appointment at the Greensburg United Methodist Church.

P.T. has been an active member of the Greencastle community, supporting many organizations such as Kiwanis and Rotary with his volunteerism and leadership. He has also been a regular blogger on the Banner Graphic website and has interacted with and assisted many DePauw University students, staff and faculty through his additional appointment as university chaplain.

The public is invited to join in the celebration event at 1 p.m. June 29 in the church sanctuary. The program will include music, presentation of gifts and statements affirming his positive effect and influence in the life of the Putnam County community.

"We welcome your presence and participation either through written statements of appreciation, a gift, a presentation, cards or other ways you would like to honor Pastor Wilson," said Jeff Hansen, chairman of the Staff Parish Relations Team.

P.T. will be preaching his final sermon at Gobin during the 10:30 a.m. worship, which will be followed by a pitch-in lunch. The public is welcome to attend both the worship service and participate in the lunch, as well as attend the celebration.
