County Jail

Three local residents were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

-- At 5:50 a.m. Friday, Jessica Marie Burris, 25, Greencastle, was lodged in the jail on charges of invasion of privacy, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

-- At 2:50 a.m. Friday, Crystal Gail Morphew-Costin, 34, Greencastle, was booked into the jail on charges of theft and possession of marijuana.

-- At 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Kent Jermaine Jackson, 39, Greencastle, was booked into the jail for a violation of home detention.

City Police

One recent arrest was reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

-- At 5:42 p.m. Thursday, Anthony Gene Lehman, 43, Greencastle, was arrested at Greencastle High School for violation of a protective order.

Arrested by Officer Jeff Modlin, Lehman was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

City Fire

Greencastle Fire Department has responded to four recent dispatches.

-- At 11:13 a.m. Friday, June 27, GFD was called to 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm due to cooking

-- At 11:31 a.m. Friday, June 27, GFD was called back to 330 Greenwood to investigate a fire alarm, the alarm was determined to need cleaning.

-- At 11:50 a.m. Friday, June 27, GFD responded to a smoke scare at the bowling alley at 1250 S. Jackson St., upon arrival no smoke nor fire was found.

-- At 2:48 p.m. Friday, June 27, GFD were called to 404 Judson Dr. to investigate a natural gas leak. This was the second time contractors hit a gas line at this address this week. GFD monitored the air, checked surrounding areas for gas and awaited the gas company to arrive.
