Author Greg Hammond's book, "Mystic Seduction: Awakening Christians to a Real and Present Danger," addresses a growing concern he has had for several years, in particular with the under 30 age group, who he has had the privilege to work with for many years.

This concern has to do with the drift of many within Christianity toward a mystical, non-Christian theology and doctrine. This drift has been the result of the immersion of our society in post-modern thinking and spiritual and moral relativism that is so strongly promoted within our culture today. And it is critical to the church, because the younger generation is destined to become the future leaders of the church.

Under the guise of achieving a higher spirituality, seemingly innocent practices derived from pagan and Eastern mysticism are encouraging Christians to empty their minds of rational thought and open them to the world of spirit. The ultimate goal behind this seductive takeover of Christian beliefs is to move Christian theology toward Eastern and Gnostic concepts, thus preparing it for the merger of all faiths into a single, worldwide religion.

This book was taken through the publication process by Dave Bellis and Thomas Williams. Dave Bellis, who was the project manager for the publication, has written several books with Josh McDowell as well as many books on his own. He has also organized many of Josh's campaigns, in particular Josh's Why Wait? campaign.

Thomas Williams, who edited the book, has written for David Jeremiah, Beth Moore, Gary Smalley, and Josh McDowell. He also authored the bestseller Knowing Aslan and collaborated with David Jeremiah on the New York Times #1 bestseller titled "What in the World is Going On?" Williams thought this was a message that needed to be addressed and felt the content was well researched and thought out.

Greg's hope is to speak on this topic every chance he gets, as it is critical to the Body of Christ and the future of Christianity to be aware of this deception that Jesus warned us about in Matthew 24.
