FILLMORE -- Convening for its only meeting of June or July, the Fillmore Town Council passed one resolution and two ordinances that will assist Clerk-Treasurer Wanda Seidler in tracking the town utility accounts.

Town Attorney Mary Russell had the three new measures ready for the council's approval.

The first was a resolution consolidating the town's utility accounts. The town previously had multiple accounts for both water and wastewater funds, but the resolution consolidates the bookkeeping into one water account and one wastewater account.

The first ordinance established a wastewater cash reserve fund. The establishment of the account makes it possible to borrow money between funds.

The second ordinance addressed the settlement of utility funds if a customer passes away. Few details were discussed, but the new rule should streamline the process for those settling a deceased person's estate.

In other business:

* Recent rains caused a washout of some of the riprap from the 2013 drainage project. A representative of Robert E. Curry and Associates Engineering, which oversaw the project, was set to examine the damage and see what can be done.

* The board thanked the volunteer road crew that recently filled potholes around town. This year's volunteers included Mike Goodpaster, Merideth Trusty, John Rusk and Town Council President Alan Jones.

* It was reported that the steering went out on the town utility truck. The vehicle, still under warranty, was fixed free of charge at Kenny Vice Ford in Ladoga.
