Ralph W. Brown

Ralph W. Brown, 75, of Carlisle, Pa., passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 at his home.

He was born on Sept. 19, 1938 in Reelsville, a son of the late George and Elizabeth (Hedge) Brown.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He retired from IBM Corp. in 1991 after 33 years of service. He had also worked for Troy Laundry and Farmers Trust.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Masonic Temple Lodge 47, both in Greencastle.

On March 21, 1965 he wed the former Vera D. Pickett, who survives along with a son, Michael (Diane) Brown of Olathe, Kan.; a daughter, Michelle (Bernard) Risbon of Carlisle; a grandson, Kevin Risbon of Carlisle; a granddaughter, Katie Risbon of Carlisle; a sister, Loretta Huff of Greencastle, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Virginia Bowers, Florence Shaner, Miriam Maury and Kathryn Littrel, and four brothers, Donald, William, John and Jake Brown.

A viewing will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, followed by funeral services at 7 p.m. at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle.

Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
