Richard 'Ronnie' Cook

Richard "Ronnie" Cook , 73 of Reelsville, passed away on Friday, July 4th, 2014 at his residence.

He was the son of James R. and Gladys R. Cook.

Ronnie worked at C.C. Cook and Son Lumber in Reelsville since he was a young man and eventually Ronnie and his brother Charlie became owners together until his death.

The Cooks were pioneers in the lumber industry and Ronnie devoted much time and effort into his business and the lumber industry. He served as president of the Indiana Hardwood Lumbermen's Association in 1979, and he served on the school board as well as a director for a local bank for years.

He enjoyed many hobbies such as car restoration and hot rods and was a devoted man to his family.

Survivors include his children, Todd Cook of Reelsville, Anthony Albright of Greencastle, Sarah Young of Reelsville and Julie Dorsett and husband Bruce; brothers Charlie Cook and wife Trisha and John Cook and his companion Linda Gray-Slovis; sister Sue Simmons and husband Richard; grandchildren Joshua Anderson, Justin Anderson, Craig Greeson, and Lauren Greeson; and great-granddaughter Hailie Marie Anderson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Edna Marie Cook in 2013 and a daughter Robin L. Greeson in 2000.

Visitation for Mr. Cook will be Thursday, July 10 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 11 with visitation starting at 11 a.m. until service time at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the Washington Township Fire Department in Reelsville.
