Alvin A. Szymanski

Alvin A. Szymanski, 71, of Brazil, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014 surrounded by family.

Alvin was born in Chicago to Albert and Stella (Ziomek) Szymanski on July 10, 1943. He worked as a millwright for Crown Cork and Seal in Chicago and a proud member of the United Steelworkers Local Union No. 3633.

After 33 years, Alvin retired to his home in the country, where he enjoyed his hobbies of woodworking, working on his Lionel train board, gardening, mushroom hunting, making maple syrup, cooking out and spending time in the serene country with family and friends.

Alvin is survived by his loving wife Kathleen, their son James and his wife Tracy, their son Thomas and his wife Lisa, his sisters Dolores Treftz, Shirley Bednarz, Elaine Szymanski and Carol Iwema, and many loving nieces and nephews.

His brothers Albert and Harvey preceded Alvin to their final resting place.

There will be no visitation or funeral. A Memorial Service for Alvin will be held in Chicago in the near future. Contact the family for details.
