Robert F. Lewellen

Robert F. Lewellen, 93, of Browns Valley, passed away on July 10, 2014 at 1:30 a.m.

He was born on May 24, 1921 to John and Mabel Coons Lewellen at Crawfordsville.

He was a member of the Browns Valley Christian Church and the Browns Valley Baptist Church, Sugar Creek Dance Club. He worked for many years at the Russellville Implement Co. as a diesel mechanic. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps.

On Oct 27, 1947 he married Mary L. Pickett at Bloomingdale and she preceded him in death in 2008.

Survivors include two sons Richard of Mount Vernon, Wash. and Robert J. of Villa Platt, La.; two daughters, Pat Mason of Crawfordsville and Mary Beth Kirk of Wellston, Okla.; grandchildren Paul, Christian, Betzy, Kara, Nicolas, Maila and Patrice; three brothers, Byron, Keith and Kenneth Lewellen; two sisters, Norma Rettinger and Darlene Kohtz; and nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents, two grandchildren, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home in Waveland. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Rev. Ken Greene and David Finch will officiate. Burial will be in Indiana Creek Hill Cemetery. Military Honors will be held at the graveside.
