DPU to take part in Private College Week July 21-25

Sunday, July 13, 2014

From Monday, July 21 through Friday, July 25, DePauw University will participate in Private College Week.

DePauw and Indiana's 30 other private, non-profit colleges and universities invite students, parents and others interested in the college selection process to experience the personality of each campus through tours, informational sessions and conversations with students and staff.

Private College Week is presented by Independent Colleges of Indiana Inc. (ICI), a nonprofit association.

Although Indiana's private colleges encourage and welcome visitors throughout the year, this concentrated week offers students an opportunity to visit as many campuses as they would like.

According to research conducted by TargetX, 90 percent of high school students interviewed about their college selection said that their campus visit influenced their choice because it "felt right."

"Students and families discover by visiting that Indiana private colleges are within reach, financially and otherwise," says Richard L. Ludwick, president and CEO of the Independent Colleges of Indiana. "ICI colleges and universities make millions of scholarship dollars available to students all four years, making top-flight higher education a dream come true for tens of thousands of students. We want this week to be a gateway to discovering that dream realized."

Visitors between the ages of 16 and 20 touring ICI campuses during Private College Week will have the chance to enter a drawing for one of three Microsoft Surface or Apple iPad mini tablets. Entry forms and rules will be available at each campus.

Those wishing to visit DePauw are encouraged to call toll-free (800) 447-2495.
