Sheriff's Dept.

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Nicole Lynn Johnson, 28, Coatesville, was arrested for failure to appear, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.

At 1:10 p.m., Leann Marie Kerr, 28, Indianapolis, was charged with a probation violation and resisting law enforcement.

At 2:50 p.m., Aftan Renee Blankenship-Patton, 29, Cloverdale, was arrested for failure to appear.

At 7:43 p.m., Anthony Edward Meyer, 44, Greencastle, was arrested for check deception and fraud.

At 9:15 p.m., Jennifer Lynn Hendricks, 37, Greencastle, was charged for operating while intoxicated.

At 5:38 p.m., Myesha Rennee Jones, 28, Indianapolis, was charged with being a habitual traffic violator.

* At 1 a.m. on Thursday, Tate Russell Baranyi, 34, Danville, was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

At 12:07 a.m. on Thursday, Ryan Vaughn Hammond, 25, Bloomington, was charged with failure to appear.

City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

* At 2:17 p.m. Wednesday, Samantha Rae Ann Leedy, 21, Greencastle, was arrested and lodged in the Putnam County Jail for an alleged theft at the Walmart store.

Capt. Mike Hanlon reported that Leedy took tie-dye kits, socks and boys' and girls' T-shirts, all valued at $62.81, without paying for them.

She reportedly stuffed the items into a backpack and attempted to leave the store.

* At 12:01 a.m. Thursday, Ryan Burdge, 31, Greencastle, was arrested at Zinc Mill Apartments and lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Arrested by Officer Kyle Lee, Burdge was charged with domestic battery and intimidation.

Three recent traffic citations were issued by city officers.

* At 9:13 p.m. Tuesday, William Hunt, 25, Brazil, was stopped for speeding by Officer Nick Eastham. Hunt was cited for 54 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street.

* At 10:55 p.m. Monday, Tanner Smith, 16, Roachdale, was cited for speeding by Officer Eastham. Smith was ticketed for 50 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street, south of Martinsville Street.

* At 11:35 p.m. Monday, Brian Morris, 56, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Matthew Huffman at Indianapolis Road and Greenwood Drive. Morris was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department has responded to multiple dispatches and two medical runs.

* At 12:46 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, GFD was called to 1034 E. CR 25 S. to investigate a fire alarm that had been set off by accident.

* At 4:28 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, GFD was dispatched to 109 S. Vine St. for an odor investigation. Upon arrival and monitoring of air, GFD found no gas present. GFD contacted the appropriate gas company.
