Even after graduating, Alec Davis continues to represent Greencastle High School well. He played in the Indiana Boys Championship, one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in the state.

Davis took to the links and finished second overall.

"The golf course was in good condition," Davis said. "It's a course I felt really comfortable on. It suited my eye. I tend to play a draw and the course was suited for draw play."

He started the tournament in great shape winning the medalist honors in stroke play and putting together, what Davis calls one of his best performances of his career.

"I shot a 67 on Monday which is a new career low for me," Davis said. "I've never shot under 70. I hit the ball well. My longest birdie was 10 feet, I had a total of six birdies."

After his great stroke play, in which he followed his 67(-5) day with a 75(+3) to finish with a -2 overall, he finished second in match play after going 19 holes with Thomas Lewis.

"I've got one more tournament in Indianapolis," Davis said. "I'm playing in Purgatory. It should be very fun. I've never played it before but I've heard it was nice."
