Songwriting workshop with Wurster set for Tuesday at PCPL
The final Putnam County Public Library "Maker Tuesday" program for the summer is Songwriting by Chris Wurster, set for 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5.
In the workshop, Wurster will work with participants on basic songwriting techniques and ideas, and will create a "group song" by the end of the evening.
The workshop is geared to high school and college students, and is limited to 6-8 participants.
Participants do not have to play an instrument. Registration is required, by signing up at the circulation desk (653-2755 x 100), or emailing programs@putnam.lib.in.us.
Wurster started playing guitar and singing as a teenager, and now in retirement has launched a "second career" as a musician and singer-songwriter. He has recently played Park Fest, the Greencastle Farmer's Market, the Cloverdale anniversary bash, open mic nights at the Swizzle Stick and gigs at other local establishments.
He also performed one of his original compositions, "Awesome Castle," with the Fifth House Ensemble during the Mother's Day "Harvest" concert.
