Inaugural fundraiser designed to raise awareness of PCH Sexual Assault Program

Sunday, August 10, 2014

The inaugural Putnam County Hospital sponsored fundraiser and cookout to raise awareness to sexual assault and the needs of the Putnam County Hospital Sexual Assault Program, directed by RN Jen Balka, was conducted Aug. 1.

The fundraiser was a success, PCH officials report, thanks to the generosity of the hospital staff. More than $200 and several bags of donated items to serve the victims of violence were collected.

"I feel very fortunate for the support I received from my PCH family, myself and partner, Bonnie Gould-Hanlon, are working to strengthen our program at Putnam County Hospital," Balka, director of the PCH Sexual Assault Program, said.

"For the last five years, we have been providing forensic evidence collection and treatment for violence such as sexual and physical assault for Putnam County residents," she added. "Thank you to the families of Putnam County Hospital, for your overwhelming support, as our program continues to grow."
