Nonprofit crisis preparation topic of next workshop

Tuesday, August 26, 2014

The next workshop in the 2014 Nonprofit Learning Series, sponsored by the Putnam County Community Foundation and the Montgomery County Community Foundation, is titled "Risk Management: How to Manage a Crisis and Develop Contingency Plans."

The workshop is scheduled for Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Country Club.

Cost of the workshop is only $15 if registered and paid by Sept. 2, or $25 at the door.

Jennifer Chandler, director of Network Support and Knowledge Sharing for the National Council of Nonprofits, has worked with nonprofit organizations in various capacities for almost 25 years.

When an unexpected crisis hits, the response is critical since it can knock a nonprofit organization off mission for a long time. At the Sept. 9 workshop, Chandler will show how to manage risk and protect your nonprofit's mission. Attendees are expected to leave the workshop armed with an action plan so when the unexpected crisis hits, their nonprofit will be ready.

The Nonprofit

Learning Series is designed to enrich and advance nonprofit associations, organizations, churches and units of government.

The cost includes the workshop, a catered lunch and all workshop materials. To register, persons need to contact Vicki Kirby in the Putnam County Foundation office at 653-4978 or vkirby@pcfoundation.org.
