Tiger Cub tennis can't stop winning

The Tiger Cubs continued their winning ways with a strong road win over Turkey Run High School on Wednesday evening, 3-2.

Greencastle started the match off well; with both doubles teams playing sound with two strong victories, 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0, respectively. Jake Mangrum and Kaleb Fleming played great tennis at one doubles, while Adam Gerard and Nate Gobert played extremely solid tennis at two doubles.

Jason Ummel appeared to show a bit of rust after the long holiday weekend and the previous match being rained out. But he was able to remained focused at the number three singles slot, winning 6-4, 6-3.

Number one and number two singles matches went to Turkey Run. Christian Ritchey played at number one, dropping his match in straight sets; 6-4, 6-3. Jed Fajt lost at two singles for the Tiger Cubs for the first time this year; 6-2, 6-2.

The Tiger Cubs junior varsity squad fared much better on Wednesday night; winning all five matches. Logan Wood and Sean Ramey both won their singles matches, at number one and number two singles, 8-4 and 8-2 respectively.

Elijah Lewis won his match at number three singles for Greencastle, 8-0. The number one doubles team of Yuji Mozawa and Brett Sosebee played well with an 8-0 victory. And Gus Manion played singles as well, winning in convincing fashion 8-0.
