County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

*At 6:08 p.m. on Friday, Jason Earl Waller, 18, Greencastle, was charged with battery and possession of a schedule drug.

*At 1:19 a.m. on Saturday, Frank Adam Roche, 24, Greencastle, was arrested on a parole violation.

*At 3:35 p.m. on Monday, Robert Travis Robbins, 25, Cloverdale, was arrested for pointing a firearm, criminal recklessness and possession of paraphernalia.

At 4 p.m., Christopher Todd Smith, 22, Greencastle, was charged with intimidation and trespassing.

At 6:35 p.m., Zachary Zain Marsee, 23, Fillmore, was arrested for battery resulting in bodily injury and a probation violation.

*At 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Raymond Allen Strange, 35, Amo, was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

At 4:32 a.m., William Lenard Matthews Jr., 34, Greencastle, was charged with domestic battery and neglect of a dependent.

City Police

A recent shoplifting incident at Walmart was investigated by Greencastle City Police.

Capt. Chris Jones was called to the store on Indianapolis Road at 8:40 p.m. Saturday after Walmart personnel stopped Autumn Renee Stone, 26, Greencastle, as she allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for a number of items.

Stone reportedly took $40.77 worth of merchandise, allegedly removing the items from her cart and placing them into her purse.

Items taken included two bottles of shaving gel, razors, a shirt, a pair of socks, two packages of neon gel markers, colored pencils, markers and a Hello Kitty drawing game.

Facing a charge of theft, Stone was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

Meanwhile, City Police also reported that Brad Martin, 30, Mecca, will be summoned into court after a recent incident at the College Inn motel.

Officer Matt Huffman reported that Martin was in possession of marijuana and a controlled substance in an incident reported at 10 p.m. Aug. 30.

One recent traffic citation was written by Greencastle officers.

*At 9:26 p.m. Sunday, William Fox, 25, Greencastle, was stopped at Indiana Street and Shadowlawn Avenue by Officer Kyle Lee.

Fox was cited for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

Sheriff's Dept.

Three recent accidents were investigated by Putnam County Sheriff's Department deputies.

*At 6:11 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31, Amanda B. Mounts, 23, Greencastle, was traveling on County Road 25 East near County Road 125 North.

Mounts advised Deputy Tyler Turner that she ran her 2011 Hyundai Accent off the road and struck a tree in an attempt to avoid an animal.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

*At 8:03 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, Kevin Pridemore, 50, Greencastle, was heading south on County Road 525 East and was stopped at a stopsign.

Pridemore advised Deputy Adam Hull that he didn't see Elizabeth T. Bunton, 16, Fillmore, who was westbound on U.S. 40 when he pulled out and collided with Bunton's 2003 Chevrolet Malibu.

Pridemore's 2004 Buick Century was shoved off the south side of the U.S. 40, striking a parked car in a private driveway.

Hull noted that the rear passenger in Bunton's vehicle complained of leg pain, but was taken from the scene by her mother.

Damage was estimated at $10,001-$25,000.

At 7:15 p.m., Susan G. Huber, 46, Bainbridge, was southbound at the intersection of County Road 525 East near County Road 800 North.

Huber told Deputy Turner that she pulled her 2001 Nissan Xterra out in front of Randy L. Willoughby, 35, Coatesville, who was westbound on County Road 800 North, striking his 1999 GM Suburban in the passenger's side.

Damage was estimated at $2,501-$5,000.

*At 9:55 a.m. on Saturday, Jennifer L. Hendricks, 37, Greencastle, was driving east on Airport Road when she met a vehicle in the corner.

Hendricks told Sgt. Jon Chadd that encounter causes her 2008 Chevrolet Impala to run off the side of the road and strike a utility pole.

Damage was estimated at $5,001-$10,000.
