County Jail

Several people were booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 11:35 a.m. on Tuesday, Christopher Lee Devin McDonald, 23, Indianapolis, was arrested for failure to appear and possession of paraphernalia.

At 12:45 p.m., Daniel Joseph Dreyer II, 40, Roachdale, was charged with nonsupport of a dependent.

* At 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Tara Marie Thompson, 31, Indianapolis, was arrested for theft.

At 10:20 p.m., Jacob Andrew Truax, 20, Crawfordsville, was charged with resisting law enforcement and reckless driving.

At 10:45 p.m., Josef Efram Minartz, 29, Greencastle, was arrested on a probation violation and disorderly conduct.

Sheriff's Dept.

* At 12:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Thomas R. Riggins, 28, Anderson, was westbound on State Road 240 attempting to cross State Road 75.

Riggins advised Lt. Donnie Pettit that he was looking north at the roadway sign and failed to see Christopher R. Shannon, 23, Danville, who was traveling southbound on State Road 75.

Shannon advised Pettit that he was traveling south on State Road 75 when Riggins crossed the intersection traveling westbound in a 2012 International semi-truck. Shannon noted that he braked and veered his 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass, but couldn't avoid hitting Riggins' trailer.

Damage is estimated at $2,501-$5,000.
