Julia I. 'Judy' Greenwood

Julia I. "Judy" Greenwood, 71, of Okeechobee, Fla., formerly of Spencer, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014.

Born September 3, 1943 in Spencer, she was the daughter of Howard and Leota (Dillon) Smith and was a 1961 graduate of Spencer High School. Judy married James Greenwood on January 26, 1962 and he preceded her in death on June 4, 2002.

Judy was a bookkeeper for the Signal Propane Gas Company and had also worked at Moss & Money Drugstore and Hammond's Daycare in Spencer. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include her children Kent (Brenda Macy) Greenwood and Robin (Jeff) Snider; grandchildren Kyle Greenwood, Tanner Snider, Hollie (Mike) Fowler and Hannah (Ben) Mitchell; stepbrothers William Lovett and Jim (Sue) Lovett; stepsister Susie June; and great-grandchildren Addie and Spencer Fowler.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Greenwood; her parents; brother Richard Smith; stepfather George Lovett; and stepbrother, Harold Lovett.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at the Pleasant Bethel Cemetery in Owen County.

Donations may be made in memory to the Putnam County Food Pantry or the Humane Society of Putnam County, Greencastle.
