Roland Laverne 'Spider' Tincher

Roland Laverne "Spider" Tincher, 78, passed away September 29, 2014 at Millpond Health Campus.

Roland was born July 8, 1936 the son of Wilfred Opal and Edith "Lucille" (Lisby) Tincher. He graduated from Fillmore High School in 1955. He was on the 1955 Fillmore Basketball Team that won the county sectional that year. He was also on the cross country and softball teams.

On May 12, 1956 at the Providence Church, he married Joann June Roach, and they were the parents of four children. They were divorced after 25 years.

Roland worked at the Zinc Mill in Greencastle, Russelville Stone Quarry and then became an over road truck Driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Theresa Wilson, granddaughter Ashely Tincher, and brothers Wayne and Dennis Tincher.

He is survived by three sons, Robert Tincher and wife Rhonda of Poland, Jerry Tincher of Carolina and Keith and Talitha Tincher of Greencastle; six grandchildren, Ed Wilson and wife Lisa, Jessica Douglas and husband Travis, Mickey Tincher and wife Crystal, Hannah Shrum and husband Jim, Trent Tincher and Ryan Tincher; four great-grandchildren, Riley and Shelby Wilson and June and Silas Shrum; and three brothers, Orville, Charles and Clifford Tincher.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday in the Bousley-Hays Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. in the Fillmore Cemetery.
