* At 5:13 p.m. on Sunday, Beth W. Uppfalt, 60, Brownsburg, was eastbound on U.S. 36 near County Road 600 West when Richard P. Spalding, 37, Rockville, suddenly crossed left of center and into her lane of travel.

Uppfalt advised Lt. Dwight Simmons that Spalding sideswiped her 2012 Nissan Juke, causing it to spin and strike a mailbox at 6719 W. U.S. 36, where it came to rest. However, Spalding continued approximately 500 feet before coming to rest in a ditch off the eastbound shoulder of the road.

Simmons noted that the investigation at the scene revealed the driver's side tire of Spalding's 2003 Honda Civic had blown out, causing the vehicle to veer left of center.

Uppfalt was treated at the scene for airbag deployment, but refused medical transport.

Spalding was cited for having no insurance and driving with a suspended license.

Assisting at the scene were Operation Life, Bainbridge Volunteer Fire Department and Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Department.

* At 10:07 a.m. Sunday, Crystal L. Watkins, 22, Greencastle, was southbound on County Road 300 West near County Road 100 South, traveling behind Clint A. French, 19, West Terre Haute.

Watkins advised Lt. Dwight Simmons that a combine tractor was turning onto County Road 300 West, which she believed prompted French to put his 1996 Chevrolet Blazer in reverse to avoid a collision. However, in putting his vehicle in reverse, he struck the front end of Watink's 2007 Kia Spectra.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.
