Margaret Jane Napier, 95, of Papillion, Neb., passed away Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Huntington Park Care Center in Papillion.

She was born March 1, 1919 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Virl Smith and Glen (Maple) Smith.

She attended high school at Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, and graduated in 1936.

Mrs. Napier was a former Greencastle resident.

She married Charles Napier on April 25, 1937, and was a Navy wife for more than 20 years through two wars.

As a homemaker, she enjoyed reading, watching movies, traveling and spending time with her family.

She loved animals and had numerous pets over the course of her life.

She also was an avid teddy bear enthusiast and amassed an impressive collections of bears.

Surviving are her son, Glenn Napier and wife Laurie, of Papillion, Neb.; one granddaughter, Michele Napier, of Navarre, Fla.; and one great-granddaughter, Erica O'Neill, of Navarre, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her father, Virl Smith; her mother, Glen Smith; her husband, Charles Napier; her son, Michael Napier; and a sister, Grace Sargeant.

Interment will be at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Bethany Funeral Home, La Vista, Neb., was entrusted with arrangements.
