DPU volleyball earns NCAC second place

After dropping a tight opening set to visiting Hiram, DePauw rallied by winning the next three and taking a 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-17) North Coast Athletic Conference victory over the Terriers.

DePauw improved to 22-7 overall and finished NCAC play at 7-1 and in second place. Hiram dropped to 19-6 overall and 5-2 in the conference.

Mary Kate Etling, playing on her senior day, paced the Tigers with 16 kills and a .467 attack percentage. Lauren Falotico followed with 14 kills and Elisabeth Wilson 11.

Faith Rolwes assisted on 50 of the Tigers' 62 kills with Keely McGrath pacing the team with two aces and 19 digs. Wilson recorded eight total blocks in the win with Rolwes contributing four.

Lindsay Brewer led Hiram with 17 kills and three blocks, while Tierra Moore had 50 assists. Regina Zyle led the way with 30 digs in the loss.

DePauw travels to Benedictine (Ill.) where it will compete in four matches Oct. 31-Nov. 1.
