Greta Ray Overbay

Greta Ray Overbay, 75, Roachdale, passed away on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014 in Florida.

She was born on Feb. 17, 1939 in London, Ky., to Isaac and Minnie (Whitson) Ray.

In March of 1958 she married Steve Overbay Jr. in Jellico, Tenn. Steve passed away in July 2012.

She worked as a hair beautician and owned her own salon for many years.

She loved bluegrass music, bingo, playing slots and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra (William) Malicoat, Roachdale; daughter-in-law Dawn Overbay, Roachdale; grandchildren William (Malissa) Malicoat Jr., Dustin (Rachael) Malicoat, Rachelle Overbay and Hunter Overbay; six great-grandchildren, Ian, Olivia, Samantha, Elizabeth, Quinton and Taylor; sister Linda (Bruce) Hale, Roachdale, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Charles Overbay, grandson Steven Overbay and siblings Otella, HB, Ottie, Clyde, Elsie, Loucille, Dicey, Conley, Patti, Joyce Ann and Francis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3 at New Maysville Community Church with Pastor Larry Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in New Maysville Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, Nov. 2 from 4-8 p.m. at the church.
