TERRE HAUTE -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior Sam Gould (Greencastle/South Putnam H.S.) has been named the inaugural winner of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Diver of the Week award for his efforts on Friday night.

Gould won a pair of events against Millikin and Lindenwood-Belleville to help the Fightin' Engineers win the team scoring in the three-team event. He tallied 249.90 points in one-meter diving and 273.15 points in three-meter diving to win the six-dive events.

Gould qualified for the NCAA Division III Diving Regional last winter and is a two-time champion in both the CCIW and the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in three-meter diving.

The CCIW has initiated a Diver of the Week Award this year to recognize the efforts of men's and women's divers in the conference. Rose-Hulman is a member of the CCIW in swimming and the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in 18 sports.

Gould and the Fightin' Engineers return to action at Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday..
