Meanwhile, the Cloverdale FFA has been busy this fall with several chapter and community activities.

The chapter had its kickoff for members and their families on Sept. 27 at Lieber State Recreation Area. In addition the chapter held the annual Cloverdale FFA alumni meeting at that time.

The Alumni Chapter is for any adult interested in supporting the FFA. Anyone interested in becoming a member may contact adviser Chelsey Meluch at CHS.

To help out the area's busy farmers, the chapter made and delivered meals to those who were busy harvesting crops on Oct. 24. FFA members met at the Cloverdale Agricenter and POET to hand out meals.

For fall contests, the Cloverdale FFA competed in the Livestock Skill-a-Thon contest, Soils Judging and is currently competing in Forestry Judging. The Cloverdale FFA will be sponsoring a seed auction for farmers looking for seed for the next growing season. On Nov. 25 at 5 p.m. interested farmers can come to the Cloverdale High School cafetorium to bid on bags of seeds from several area dealers. Proceeds from the evening's event will go toward the National Livestock Skill-a-Thon contest trip. Other donations for the trip can be directed to Chelsey Meluch at Cloverdale High School.

The Cloverdale FFA is gearing up for a busy winter season that includes Dairy Foods Judging, The Christmas Toy Drive, the National Livestock Skill-a-Thon trip, and the beginning of the livestock judging season.
