Support enhances GFD open house
To the Editor:
The Greencastle Fire Department would like to extend a special "thanks" to the supporters who contributed to the 14th annual Open House event on Oct. 2.
We had a huge success with record-breaking attendance of 400-plus this year.
The winners of the coloring, poster and art contests were recognized with ages ranging from pre-K to 12th grade.
Everyone in attendance enjoyed great food, games, bounce house, free face painting/glitter tattoos, entertainment from Patches the Pumper and fire prevention education through our "Smokehouse" experience, station tours and gear demos.
The success of this event could not have been possible without the generosity of those involved. Thank you again to everyone for supporting our efforts to educate our community to protect lives and safeguard property.
