All precincts have now reported in the 2014 general election, with the unopposed candidates for county offices now prepared to take office in January.

The leading vote getter on the night was sheriff-elect Scott Stockton, with 5,184 votes. After 27 years as an Indiana State Trooper, Stockton will take office as Putnam County Sheriff on Jan. 1

Other first-timers set to take office include Clerk Heather Gilbert, Recorder Tracy Bridges, District 2 Commissioner Rick Woodall and District 2 County Councilor Jill Bridgewater.

Incumbents retaining office in county races include Circuit Court Judge Denny Bridges, Prosecutor Tim Bookwalter, Surveyor David Penturf, Assessor Nancy Dennis and County Councilmen Dave Fuhrman, Darrel Thomas and Keith Berry.

One of the few contested areas of the county was the Town of Cloverdale, where two town council positions were up for grabs. In Cloverdale's Third Ward, Cindy Holland upset incumbent Dennis Padgett 223-180. In the at-large race, incumbent Coweta Patton bested former council member Cathy Tipton by a count of 240-160.
