Donald Wesley Thompson, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014.

Born Oct. 28, 1930 in Reelsville, Ind., he was the son of Fred Noble and Hazel (Pelfrey) Thompson.

He was a 1949 graduate of Fillmore High School.

He married Linda R. (Cunningham) Thompson, and she survives.

Donald was a United States Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War.

Donald had worked as a custom cabinet maker, and retired from S.A.I. in 1995. He worked several years previously for the Corsi Cabinet Co.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter Donna (John) Tina; son Kenneth (Rose) Thompson; stepchildren Karin (Kem) Culler, Mark Rhoades and Gena Rhoades; siblings Ethel Hammond, Richard (Clara) Thompson, Shirley (Jerry) Baker, Norma Champ, and Judith (Rick) Parent; grandchildren John and Clinton Mauldin; stepgrandchildren, Neil and Ryan Rhoades, Keigan and Kaitlyn Culler; great grandchildren HannahMauldin and Kyle Ingram; great aunts,Helen Godfrey and Kathryn Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment with military rites will follow at the Union Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
