Cecil Max Suitors

Cecil Max Suitors, age 85, of Waynetown, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2014 in the emergency room at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health, Crawfordsville.

Max was born Oct. 17, 1929, the son of Everett Lloyd and Mabel Beatrice (nee: Clarkson) Suitors in Fountain County.

He attended Wingate High School before moving to Arizona with his family.

After high school Max served in the U.S. Army from November 1946 until August 1948.

Max then moved back to Indiana and married Ruth Evelyn Florey on Aug. 11, 1951.

Max farmed all of his adult life and also worked at Raybestos MFG in Crawfordsville and the State Highway Dept.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting in the fall and always loved to hunt mushrooms in the spring.

His memberships included the Waynetown Methodist church and the Covington VFW.

Max is survived by his wife, Ruth Suitors of Waynetown; sons Floyd Kim (wife Joanna) Suitors of Greencastle, Lloyd Tim (wife: Diana) Suitors of Hillsboro, and Michael Shane Suitors of Waynetown.; a brother, Hershell (wife Janine) Suitors of New Paris, Ind.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services for Max Suitors will be held at noon Thursday, Nov. 13 at Shoemaker Funeral Home, 202 Bratton Rd.,Waynetown, with Rev. John Booth officiating.

Burial will follow in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.

The family will receive guests one hour prior to services.

Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Montgomery County FISH Program Food Bank. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
