Everett William 'Bill' Phipps

Everett William "Bill" Phipps, 61, of Summerville, S.C., passed away on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014.

Born Sept. 26, 1953, he was the son of the late Everett Phipps and Ola Mae (Glenn) Phipps.

Bill was a 1971 graduate of Van Buren High School and a 1975 graduate of Rose-Hulman with a civil engineering degree.

He moved to South Carolina, where he worked for the S.C. Highway Department.

He is survived by his "Honey Darlin" of 37 years, Barbara Foote of Charleston, and siblings Ethel Fowler (Dick) of Indianapolis, Carl Freeman of Weed, Calif., Ola "Cissie" Carrington (Norman) of Greencastle, Robert Phipps (Jane) of Marshall, and Cindy Phipps of Reelsville.

He has 10 nieces and nephews, 13 great-nieces and great-nephews and several cousins. He also has several extended family and friends in South Carolina and Indiana.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 at Lawson-Miller Chapel, Brazil, with Bro. Rick Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Caluctta Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Saturday until time of service at the funeral home.

Flowers or donations to assist with bringing Bill home to Indiana for burial will be accepted and appreciated.
