Indiana State Police

At 6 p.m. Thursday, the Putnam County Dispatch Center alerted officers to an older model black BMW, eastbound on U.S. 40 from Putnam County with the driver reportedly involved in a domestic argument with battery in Putnam County.

Trooper Jonathan Cumbie was on U.S. 40 near State Road 39 in Hendricks County and noticed the eastbound 1995 BMW. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Lucas Cloe, 24, of Plainfield.

During the course of the investigation, Cloe reportedly became verbally abusive, agitated and physically resisted the investigative efforts of Trooper Cumbie.

Cloe was incarcerated in the Hendricks County Jail for resisting law enforcement and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The battery incident was investigated by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, but no information was available on Friday.

Assisting Cumbie was Trooper D. Baker of the Indianapolis Post.

City Police

One minor accident was investigated recently by Greencastle City Police officers.

* At 4:53 p.m. Monday, a one-vehicle mishap was reported on the Walmart store parking lot off Indianapolis Road.

Officer Jeff Modlin reported that Jackie Haldeman, 45, Greencastle, was attempting to turn left and struck a yellow protective pole and the corner of a fire hydrant.

She sustained front-end damage to her 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer in the mishap.

Total damage was listed at $2,500-$5,000.

One driver was cited recently by city officers.

* At 9:21 p.m. Thursday, Nacole Hilburn, 26, Greencastle, was stopped by Officer Kyle Lee at Elizabeth and North Jackson streets.

She was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license and for having a false or fictitious registration.

Sheriff's Dept.

* At 7:10 p.m. Thursday, James H. Manges, 62, Russellville, was southbound on U.S. 231, just north of State Road 236.

Manges advised Reserve Officer Ken Rozelle that a deer ran into the road from the east and he was unable to avoid striking it with his 2004 Ford Taurus.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.

* At 8:25 p.m., John Kessinger, 77, Greencastle, was northbound on U.S. 231, approaching State Road 236.

Kessinger told Lt. Virgil Lanning that a deer entered the roadway and he was unable to avoid hitting it with his 2013 Toyota Prius.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.
