Tiger swimmers are ranked 24th after Invite

CRAWFORSDVILLE, - The 24th-ranked DePauw women's swimming and diving team took first place in the Patrick Woehnker Invitational, defeating Hope College by a score of 922-725 Saturday.

The Tigers won 10 events on the second day of competition to secure the team victory. DePauw's 800 free relay team of Angela Newlon, Emily Weber, Kirsten Olson and Erin Horne touched first in 7:55.48, while the 400 relay of Caroline Bridges, Weber, Olson and Horne won with a time of 3:38.36.

Newlon finished first in the 400 individual medley in 4:35.34 and won the 200 fly with a time of 2:10.38.

In the 100 free, the Tigers took the top three spots led by Bridges who won with a time of 54.36, followed by Weber and Horne.

Annie Graves won the 100 back in 1:00.67, while Weber took the 1650 free in 17:56.77.

Olson finished first in the 200 back in 2:10.24 and won the 200 free with a time of 1:59.55.

Morgan Graves touched first in the 100 fly in 1:01.11, while Jamie Fritsch finished second in the event.

DePauw is back in the pool Thursday, Dec. 4, when they compete in the Kenyon Invitational.
