For a brief period of time Monday morning, gasoline prices actually dipped below the $2.80 mark in Greencastle, a price not seen locally in many months. However, the $2.78 figure captured at the Phillips 66 station at Indianapolis Road and Franklin Street -- as well as other locations like the nearby Kroger -- had quickly jumped back up to $2.89 by the end of the day and remained there on Tuesday.
