Eminence--The Cloverdale Clovers traveled to Eminence Tuesday night for a non-conference game. Colver oach Pat Rady's teamcame home with its second win of the season taking the Eels 82-54.

In the opening period Cloverdale sophomore standout Cooper Neese scored nine of his game high 32 points to put his squad up 20-12. Cooper continued his hot shooting in the second period adding another 12 points to send the game into the half time break with his team up 48-19.

The second period saw the Clovers go on two runs, one of 13-0, the second run a 11-0 spurt. Brenton Scott added five points and Jalen Moore five to aid the Clovers cause.

"I was very pleased with our start. Defensively came came out ready to play. We also got a couple of good run there in the first half and it was a big key. We got several good look the basket an th ball fell for us," Rady said.

The third quarter saw the best play of the game as both teams scored 16 points each. Neese added another 9 points, and KJ Coleman added 4 of his 17 points sending the game into the final period with the Clovers up 64-34.

The Eels outscored the Clovers in the final period 20-18, with a game high of 22 points from sophomore Bo Mehringer. Mehringer hit five of eight from behind the three point line.

"You have to give coach Temples and his team credit," Rady said. "They didn't give up and came out strong in the second half and outplayed us in some spots. We had good balance on the boards no we shot well from the floor and free throw line and that helped us pull away."

For the game the Clovers shot 31 of 52 from the floor, including 7 of 14 from behind the three point line. They also hit 13 of 15 from the charity stripe.

"You've been around the game and me long enough to know that putting the ball in the basket hides mistakes, but it also can hide the fact that we played good defense."

The match should really be a good exercise before the Clovers enter the county tournament.

"It should help. It just gives us two days to practice and get ready. It should be great tourney as always. Greencastle opened with a very good win at Crawfordsville and their coming into the tourney as a team to watch out for. It should be a good weekend of basketball," Rady said.
