Banner Graphic: What has been different about being a senior this year?

Mitchell Johnson: Looking back on the last three years, I wish I could go back to my freshman, sophomore and junior years and just start all over again. I just would've tried harder because I know that this year is my last year. I can never get it back.

BG: What is your favorite thing about swimming?

MJ: The team. I love the team; we are like a family.

BG: What are your individual goals and the teams goals?

MJ: Some individual goals that I have are to top it at sectional finals. I want to make All-Conference so I have to win the 100 back. I want to win a conference for the team and win county for the team. I want to get on the top 10 100 backstrokers in GHS' history. Those are my main goals as well as get under a minute in 100 backstroke.

BG: Who or what has inspired you to come out and perform so well this year?

MJ: Probably my coach (Kent Menzel). My coach really motivates me. He keep me motivated on my goals because we did a goal board for the high school.

BG: What are your plans after graduating?

MJ: I want to go to college. I'm not for sure where yet. It's either University of Indianapolis, University of Southern Indiana or Franklin College. I want to become a teacher or a physical therapist.

BG: Why are you interested in teaching and physical therapy?

MJ: With physical therapy I feel like I'm still working with people. I like working with the body and helping people recover from their injuries. Teaching, it's our future. I like preparing our future for what's coming.
