Home for the Holidays contest deadline extended

Putnam County residents can enter by filling out and returning an entry form to the Chamber of Commerce office, 16 S. Jackson St., Greencastle, or by faxing it to 765-848-1015 by 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12. Entries should include name of decorating contestants, address, telephone number and detailed directions to the decorated home.

The deadline has been extended for the Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce 2014 Putnam County "Home for the Holidays" Lawn Decorating Contest.

Putnam County residents can enter by filling out and returning an entry form to the Chamber of Commerce office, 16 S. Jackson St., Greencastle, or by faxing it to 765-848-1015 by 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12.

Entries should include name of decorating contestants, address, telephone number and detailed directions to the decorated home.

The first-place winner will receive a $100 Walmart gift card. Second place will get a $50 gift card and third place a $25 gift card from the Greencastle Walmart store.

Judging will take place on the evenings of Dec. 15-17. Lights need to be turned on each of those evenings between 5 and 10 p.m.

Contestants will be judged on originality, continuity of theme, preparation and effort and the "Spirit of Christmas."

The contest is open to all homes in Putnam County.
