Alberta Helen Buis, 94, of Plainfield and formerly of Greencastle, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014.

She was born on May 11, 1920 in Tippecanoe County to Joseph Bollock and Louise Brouwer Bollock.

Bert married Russell E. Buis on March 31, 1948, and he preceded her in death in 2011.

She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, where she had been an active member of the Ladies Guild, and was a member of Kappa Delta Phi for more than 50 years.

Bert had been employed at Dr.'s Gerald and Russell Elliott as a receptionist.

Bert was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son Jack Salts; two sisters, Barbara Wilson and Henrietta May; and two brothers, William Bollock and Donald Bollock.

Surviving are her daughters, Beverly Campbell and husband Floyd of Danville, Ill., Linda Laird and husband David of Anderson, Diana Laybold of Plainfield; a sister, Anna Louise Purcell of West Lafayette; daughter-in-law Judith Salts of Chula Vista, Calif.; nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, with Rev. Father Michael Fritsch officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Dec. 17 from 4-7 p.m. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle.
