On Saturday the Sullivan boys' basketball team gave Greencastle some trouble down the stretch at McAnally Center but the Tiger Cubs held their ground and pulled out the win 47-40.

Three-pointers were the order of the day as Greencastle took a large first-half lead led by the passing of senior Brody Bollman and the shooting of junior Ryan Coble. After freshman Colin York hit two from long range in the first he hit another one in the second quarter to keep pace with Coble, who also had three first-half three-pointers.

"I like it when they go in," Greenlee said. "We've got kids that can shoot it. It's a pretty high percentage shot when they are open. Then we have guys inside that can do some things as well. We always want to try and get both of those things with inside and outside game to be effective."

The Tiger Cub shooters were being fed by Bollman, who would slash through the lane and find an open shooter. This style of play led to a 28-13 first half.

"It's part of our game," Coble said. "You know we've got the big man Brody Bollman getting us the ball. Working inside out is basically what we're doing and trying to get open shots for our shooters. It's a thrill. It gets the crowd into the game and that really helps us out on the court."

The lead was trimmed down in the third when Sullivan began to make plays and capitalized on the home team's mistakes. Sullivan scored 18 points in the second half to Greencastle's 10.

"We put ourselves in a situation where we had to pull it out," Greenlee said. "That was the disappointing part but the encouraging part was that we didn't fold at the end."

The second half, however, allowed Greencastle to maintain its lead. Coble hit two shots while York nailed another three. Bollman also hit a fourth-quarter shot that helped preserve Greencastle's seven-point lead.

"We have to learn to play with the lead and not give the other team a chance to get back in that game," Greenlee said. "Give Sullivan credit for changing things up, but I thought our kids struggled at times with making easy plays. We always talk about making easy plays and we were trying to make plays that weren't there. We're happy to be 4-1 but we know we have a long way to go."

Greencastle's next game will be on the road on Wednesday against Moorseville.
