Brown is the New Blue

Sharing a moment of levity at the bench Tuesday afternoon, Putnam County Sheriff-elect Scott Stockton (left) and Putnam Superior Court Judge Denny Bridges prepare for Stockton to take the oath of office. Both former Indiana State Troopers, Stockton and Bridges also shared the spotlight with retired State Police Col. Don Brackman (not pictured), who now serves as director of the National White Collar Crime Center and was in Putnam County as Stockton's guest. (Photo by JARED JERNAGAN)

Newly sworn in Putnam County Sheriff Scott Stockton shakes hands with retired State Police Col. Don Brackman, who now serves as director of the National White Collar Crime Center and was in Putnam County as Stockton's guest during the swearing in ceremony. Having supervised both Stockton and Putnam Superior Court Judge Denny Bridges, Brackman called them two of the finest undercover officers he had in his charge. The new sheriff credits much of his success to Brackman's influence. "He saw something in me ... I don't know what," Stockton said with a smile. "He's allowed me a lot of opportunities."
