Eleanor J. 'ET' Thurman

Eleanor J. "ET" Thurman, 75, of Greencastle, went home to be with her Lord at 11:53 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 at Putnam County Hospital in Greencastle.

She was born Oct. 13, 1939 in Sullivan County, the daughter of Woodrow Wilson and Francis Johnson Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her mother and two sisters, Anita Hussong and Wanda Handley.

Eleanor was a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Greencastle, and retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance Co.

Survivors include her father; Woodrow Wilson of Sullivan; two sons; Walter Marshall (Rebecca) of Greencastle, and Stanley Thurman of Indianapolis; four brothers, Carlton Wilson (Bertie) of Robinson, Ill., Bradley Wilson (Sandy) of Carlisle, Ind., Paul Wilson (Teresa), of Illinois, and Fountain Wilson (Rita) of Dugger; two sisters; Maria Barry and Myrna Wilson, both of Terre Haute, four grandchildren, Miranda Vinal, Amanda and Billy Thurman, and Charles Marshall; two great-grandchildren, Aleah and Brooklyn; several nieces and nephews, a loving church family and two special friends, Joan Billman and Anna Wood.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5 at Banks and Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Michael Wren officiating. Interment will follow in the K of P Cemetery in Hymera.

Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. until services on Monday.
