Featured Athlete of the Week: Marquise Moore, Basketball School

Marquise Moore is a 17-year-old senior basketball player at Cloverdale High School. He does not participate in any after school activites or other sports, focusing his high school career on basketball.

Moore was born on April 4, 1997 to his parents William and Brandy Moore. He has two brothers, 19-year-old William and 15-year-old Jalen. His hobbies include playing basketball with his friends, hanging out with his friends and playing videogames.


Banner Graphic: How do you like basketball?

Marquise Moore: I love basketball. I fell in love with it since I was a little kid. It is something I like doing.

BG: How did you get into the game of basketball?

MM: My dad has been a basketball player his whole life. He played in college at Murray State and then he played overseas and a little bit of professional ball. So it has always been in the family.

BG: What has motivated you throughout this year?

MM: Younger coach (Patrick) Rady and older coach (Pat) Rady, the speeches that they have are really incredible with the things that they say. There are a lot of motivational things that they say and how they say them.

BG: What has it been like being a senior on this team?

MM: It has been great. A lot of people look up to me and I enjoy that. I enjoy playing for coach Rady in my last year and having fun with all my friends.

BG: Who has influenced you most?

MM: My dad. My dad has always influenced me the most.

BG: How are you going to miss high school after graduation?

MM: Mainly basketball and just knowing as soon as the season is over that is the main thing of high school I enjoy, basketball and friends.

BG: What are your plans after high school?

MM: I want to go to college and play basketball. I want to study to be an engineer.
