Happy Birthday Elvis

Thursday, January 8, 2015

Tables in Chief's Restaurant were filled Wednesday night to celebrate Elvis' 80th birthday with some of The King's best tracks performed by local musicians. Singers included Gus Moon (above) and Jerry Headd (below) as well as Tony Harmless, Jack Gibson and John Little. Chief's sponsored the event with the help of The Castle, a non-profit organization with the goal of incorporating art into the current curriculum of local schools. Restaurant owner Steve Geabes, a big Elvis fan, has been celebrating The King's birthday in his restaurant since its opening, but this year he decided to shake, rattle and roll things up by making the event a charitable one. Fifteen percent of Wednesday's proceeds were donated to The Castle.
