Saturday Greencastle girls' basketball game postponed

The Greencastle girls' basketball JV and varsity games at Brown County scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 17 have been canceled.

A tragic accident has taken the life of one of a Brown County HS student this past weekend and the funeral is set for Saturday.

The varsity game will be made up at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20. No JV game will be played this year.

"The sudden death of a high school student, unfortunately, is something that Greencastle has experienced, more than once," GHS athletic director Greg Hill said. "North Vermillion High Sschool lost two student-athletes (members of their State Championship football team) a couple of weeks ago. The tragic accident this past week involving a Brown County HS student reminds us that life is precious and fragile."

The Tiger Cub JV is back on the court at South Putnam at 6 p.m. Thursday.

The varsity girls host South Putnam at 6 p.m. Friday.
