Raptor program set for Saturday in Greencastle

Tuesday, January 13, 2015

Birds of a feather will flock together Saturday, Jan. 17 for a special program in Greencastle.

From 2-4 p.m. this Saturday, several live raptors -- large birds of prey including hawk and eagles -- will be brought to Greencastle for a program from the Hardy Lake Raptor Center near Scottsburg in southern Indiana.

Hardy Lake is the only DNR property with a raptor rehabilitation center. The center cares for injured raptors and educates visitors about Indiana's hawks, owls, falcons and vultures.

The program will take place at the Greencastle Presbyterian Church on Round Barn Road (adjacent to the Putnam County Playhouse). It is free and open to the public.

Anyone who would like more information persons may call Allen Beals at 317-557-6817.

Further information on the Raptor Center and the programs they offer can be obtained by calling 812-794-2244.
