Friday, January 16, 2015

Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana will continue to offer its natural gas customers cash rebates when replacing existing natural gas equipment with high-efficiency models.

New to the program for 2015 is a $100 rebate toward a WiFi enabled programmable thermostat.

Residential rebates toward energy efficient natural gas appliances and improvements as of Jan. 1, 2015 include:

-- $250 toward a natural gas furnace (95 percent or higher efficiency rating).

-- $300 toward a natural gas furnace (97 percent or higher efficiency rating).

-- $300 toward a natural gas residential boiler (90 percent or higher efficiency rating with space heating as the primary use).

-- $100 toward a Wi-Fi enabled programmable thermostat.

-- $20 toward a standard programmable thermostat.

-- 40 percent of cost, up to $450 toward attic insulation.

-- 40 percent of cost, up to $450 toward wall insulation.

-- $400 toward duct sealing.

Vectren continues to offer a variety of energy-efficient natural gas rebates for small business customers as well.

"We want to encourage customers to choose the most efficient appliances possible," Robbie Sears, vice president of customer energy solutions, said. "Energy-efficient appliances deliver substantial savings over their operating life and our rebates help customers to overcome the increased initial investment."

Since its inception in 2006, Vectren's natural gas conservation programs have saved nearly 80 million therms of natural gas, which is enough energy to heat 99,000 homes for a year.

Vectren's rebate forms can be found at www.vectren.com.

Rebate forms can be completed online or printed and submitted within 60 days of equipment installation.

To qualify, customers must use natural gas as their primary source of heat.
