Greencastle School Board approves personnel changes

The Greencastle Community School Corporation approved numerous personnel changes during its monthly meeting Monday, Jan. 19 but, due to additional changes being made to that report, it was not released until Wednesday.

The board approved Gwen Morris to act as temporary fourth-grade teacher in light of the resignation of Katelunn Duby-Edwardson, which was also approved. The change will occur on Monday, Feb. 2.

The board approved several new hires at Deer Meadow Primary, including Shelby Earl and Judy Birge as noon aides; and Lora Tharp as temporary instructional assistant for Lisa Torrence.

A series of substitute teachers were approved, including Heather Nipper; Zane Miller and Angele Cantrell.

Two athletic hirings for Greencastle High School were approved, including Tabatha Briones as assistant softball coach and Mike Johnson as volunteer assistant softball coach.

Additionally, the board approved hires for Beth Hurley as cafeteria substitute; Candy Fiscus as junior class sponsor; and approved a transfer from substitute to full-time bus driver for Josh Hayes.

The Greencastle Community School Corporation holds monthly board meetings at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of each month.

The next school board meeting is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. at Ridpath Primary School.
