Here Come the Cookies

Thursday, February 5, 2015
As workmen from Planes Moving and Storage, Indianapolis, unload cartons of Girl Scout cookies Wednesday, Wendi Merrill, leader of Troop 01668, Bainbridge, checks her pick-up list as the cookies arrived at The Storehouse Church in Greencastle for distribution to troops and scouts. Loading up one of Merrill's two vehicles with Tagalongs are Christopher Haynes (left) and Johnny Carter as Jordan Smilko (in truck) waits to load boxes of Savannah Smiles lemon wedges. Eight varieties of Girl Scout cookies are available this year -- Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Trefoil, Do-Si-Dos and Savannah Smiles, as well as the new Rah Rah Raisin and gluten-free Toffee Tastic (with a very limited quantity). Cookies are $4 per box. Girl Scouts will be selling cookies through early March at booths at local businesses such as Kroger, Walmart, Casey's, Putnam Inn and more.

  • Sorry. The cookies are too expensive now. The cookie manufacturers make a killing off these.
