Sunday, February 8, 2015

The 27th annual West Central Indiana Quail Forever banquet and fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds, located on U.S. 231 North in Greencastle.

Those planning to attend should note the change in location for this year's event. The public is invited to attend.

Proceeds from this year's fundraiser will help to further the efforts toward establishing wildlife habitat and supporting youth activities, including safe firearm handling and instruction to the Shooting Sports class of 4-H'ers this summer.

Scheduled activities include a "seven-gun salute" raffle with only 100 tickets sold, a live auction featuring wildlife prints, and hand-carved decoys by Jules Bouillet of Vincennes.

Additional special live auction items include a curio cabinet with a hidden gun rack handcrafted by Barry Grimes, and a large adult assortment of fireworks supplied by Wayne's World Fireworks for your Fourth of July celebration.

There also will be games and prizes for youths, two or three tables of ladies' gifts and a silent auction.

The evening begins with a cash bar and appetizers at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 and the auction to follow.

Persons may call Lynn Wilson at 246-6306 for ticket information and prices. Tickets will also be available at Humphreys' Outdoor Power, 950 N. Jackson St., Greencastle.

Ticket sales end on Monday, Feb. 16. All tickets must be paid for in advance.
